Preschool supplies, Winter 2009–10
Keep these supplies on hand throughout the quarter. Supplies for Responding options are listed in each session.
- Bible
- Copy of My Bible Storybook for each child (include extras for visitors)
- Resource pack items: Bible memory poster, “Holy child” song maze, Crèche figures, “Come and see” cards, Monarch butterfly mobile, “Bread and water” game and game pieces, Story pictures
- Gather ’Round CD and CD player
- Worship area items: low table; purple cloth; white cloth; Advent wreath with three purple candles, one pink candle, one large white candle; matches; nativity set
- Story figures (wooden or plastic people figures)
- Drawing paper, card stock, colored construction paper
- Easel paper, flip chart, chalkboard, or whiteboard (the sessions refer to easel paper; use whatever is most accessible)
- Crayons, colored pencils, markers, pencils
- Craft supplies: wooden craft sticks, yarn, cotton balls, Christmas stickers
- Washable paints, watercolor paint sets
- White glue, glue sticks, paste
- Masking tape, transparent tape
- Safety scissors (include left-handed)
- Plastic smocks or other protective clothing
- Play dough or salt dough (recipes on page 93 of teacher's guide)
- Flashlights or LED tea lights
- Dolls, stuffed animals
- Rhythm instruments in a basket
- Round-head brass fasteners (brads)
- Box of simple costumes, dress-up clothes, long fabric pieces, scarves or streamers
- Dishpans or baby bathtubs
