Gather 'Round quarters are based on a four-year Bible outline. All ages study the same stories each week, with texts abridged in age-appropriate ways for younger children.
In the fall quarters, we cover the Old Testament, beginning with Genesis in Fall 2010. This cycle ends in Fall 2013 with the return of the Israelites from exile and the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple.
In the winter and spring, we study the life and teachings of Jesus. Each year features a different gospel, beginning with Luke in Winter 2010-11. Each year after Easter we turn to stories of the early church and the missions of the apostles Peter, Paul, and others.
Summer quarters have specific themes, including the parables and sayings of Jesus, biblical perspectives on peace, texts that tell of the goodness of God's creation, and stories of some of the intriguing characters in the New Testament.
