Gather ’Round quarters are based on a four-year Bible outline.
The fall quarters are devoted to a mainly chronological study of the Old Testament. We begin with Genesis as the first year focus and end with exile and restoration in the fourth year.
Winter and spring quarters are devoted to the New Testament. Each year we study the perspective of a particular Gospel, beginning with Luke in Fall 2006 and moving in subsequent years to Matthew, Mark, and John. We cover Advent themes every year, discuss Jesus’ life and ministry from the new year through Easter, and then take up the missions of the apostles Peter, Paul, and others, as described in Acts and the epistles.
Summer quarters have specific topics and themes. These quarters address and highlight the parables of Jesus; Old and New Testament perspectives on peace; the early church, as seen through the epistles; and some of the interesting and important people of the Bible not discussed in previous quarters.
